Update: I couldn’t really let her go, so I made two more, based on the photos by Eugene Robert Richee. He photographed so many actors and actresses from the silver screen era.

I remember the first time I saw this photo – blew me away with it’s simplicity and grace. A fantastic artistic expression, created in a studio with whatever gear was available in 1929.

This last image is probably shot during the same session, judging from the cut of her dress and the pearls against full black.
