Vector portrait of Louise Brooks
Flapper Girl Extraordinaire

You’ve got it!

Update: I couldn’t really let her go, so I made two more, based on the photos by Eugene Robert Richee. He photographed so many actors and actresses from the silver screen era.

Drawing of a classic low-key photo of Louise Brooks. Her black hair and dress completely blends into the black background, leaving only her hands, face and her long string of pearls.
Beauty and Pearls in a low-key setting

I remember the first time I saw this photo – blew me away with it’s simplicity and grace. A fantastic artistic expression, created in a studio with whatever gear was available in 1929.

Drawing of American actress Louise Brooks' profile, wearing all black and a pearl necklace against a black background. (Original photo by Eugene Robert Richee, 1929.)
Ms. Brooks

This last image is probably shot during the same session, judging from the cut of her dress and the pearls against full black.
