Patti Austin

I keep saying it, and it bears repeating – Patti Austin is an amazing vocalist who you probably don’t listen to enough. Just jump in anywhere in her catalog, the woman does not have a single track where her performance is less than stellar. Sure, not every track is equally great, but that’s up to variation in the material, not her performance of it. Giving 100% every single time.

I first noticed her back in 1981 when I heard her on Quincy Jones’ “The Dude” album.
